The City of Merriam invests in our community with grant opportunities for residents and business owners.

Block Party Grant

Does your neighborhood want to host a neighborhood block party? Apply for a grant here!

Compost Bin Rebate

The City of Merriam is partnering with K-State to help residents divert organic matter from landfills by offering a rebate to begin composting.

Contain the Rain Program

The Contain the Rain Program supports residents who want to reduce rain and snow runoff.

Energy-Saving Kits

Residents can get a free energy-saving kit at City Hall or the Merriam Community Center.

Franchise Fee Rebate

Merriam residents with low-to-moderate income may apply for a franchise fee rebate from utility bills from the previous year if certain income requirements are met.

This fee rebate program is a city-funded project, implemented by Mayor Pape and the Merriam City Council. This year will mark the 42nd year that this program has been offered to Merriam residents.

Historic Downtown Merriam Exterior Improvement Grant

Merriam business and property owners can make outdoor improvements, including painting, siding, door/window replacement, awnings, building additions, landscaping, and more.

Merriam Hotel Improvement Grant

This new grant opportunity assists hotels to make needed improvements to enhance our tourism district.

Neighborhood Island Grant

Help spruce up your neighborhood! The City is partnering with our residents to improve common areas across Merriam. The Neighborhood Island Grant reimburses you 100% - up to $500.

Residential City Property Tax Rebate Program

The Residential City Property Tax Rebate Program helps reduce the tax burden on income-qualified Merriam households by returning the city's portion of property taxes.

Residential Exterior Home Improvement Grant

Does your house need a roof? Want to build a new deck? What about replacing your windows or driveway? Merriam residents looking to beautify their homes may be eligible for a grant.

Residential Sustainability Grant

Merriam residents and property owners can install energy-saving systems, including solar power, wind power, high-efficiency HVAC, insulation, energy-efficient windows and doors, and geothermal heating and cool.

Residential Tree Grant

Homeowners can get one free tree from an approved list. Tree delivery, planting, and warranty are included.
