There’s a new City Councilmember in Ward 4.

Reuben Cozmyer took his oath of office at the Oct. 28 City Council meeting.

Merriam City Council appointed Cozmyer to fill the vacant seat after interviewing five interested candidates.

Cozmyer has lived in Merriam since 2012 and has served on the City’s Planning Commission since 2017 and the Board of Structure Appeals since 2019.

Cozmyer replaces David Neal, who resigned in September. Cozmyer will serve Neal’s remaining term through the end of 2025.
