Facility Attendant - Evenings & Weekends

The City of Merriam Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a part-time Facility Attendant to work weekend hours (approximately 12-15 hours per week). Availability to cover full-time vacations and holiday shifts throughout the year is preferred. The qualified applicant will be responsible for assisting in the supervision of the Merriam Community Center and its participants. Typical hours are Monday - Thursday 5:30-9 p.m.; Friday 5:30-8 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m.-6/8 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m.-6 p.m. However, applicants should have after hours availability until midnight on weekends for rental purposes.

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: answering the telephone, providing information concerning Parks and Recreation programs and policies, operation of the welcome desk, registering participants in programs and collecting fees, daily bank deposits, room set ups, light maintenance, and assistance with special events both indoor and outdoor.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent 
  • Minimum of 18 years old, good communication skills, basic math skills;
  • Ability to follow and carry out instructions;
  • Knowledge of personal computers and windows-based software.
