The golf course is just one par-3 hole, but Merriam resident Stoney Bogan said it’s more than just the length of a game.
Bogan built the hole – with bicycles serving as the tee box markers - to raise money for local charities.
“Since I hit golf balls in my backyard all the time, I thought it would be a good idea for a fundraiser,” Bogan said.
So, he invited his friends and neighbors to compete for who can hit a golf ball closest to the hole. Bogan said more than 30 people showed up to play his course last Saturday afternoon. In all, the group raised more than $215 for the Veterans Community Project. Bogan said he will definitely host another round sometime soon.
“We had such a great turnout,” Bogan said. “I was talked into doing it again.”
