Seasonal Merriam

Merriam is nourished by nature and steeped in sunshine throughout most of the year. We are home to four true seasons with only 34 inches of rainfall. Over 2,700 hours of annual sunshine make Merriam a great city to visit and explore year-round. 


  • Calling all Big 12 basketball fans! Are you coming to town for the men's basketball tournament? The Merriam Visitors Bureau offers a free game shuttle for our hotel guests. Stay in Merriam, save money on parking, buy more nachos. 
  • The Heartland Artist Exhibition is a juried show on display throughout March at the Tim Murphy Art Gallery. The exhibition features talented artists from around the U.S. 
  • An annual tradition on the third Saturday in May, Turkey Creek Festival offers live music, craft vendors, kids activities, and it's you're only chance all year to get in the paddle boats at Antioch Park!
