Brown Memorial Park

Brown Park is located at 5040 Booker Dr. Brown Park's namesake is Esther E. Brown, the local resident who organized citizen support for the 1949 Webb v. School District 90 case. The Webb case helped set the background for the 1954 Brown v. the Board of Education lawsuit that ultimately serves as one of the most recognizable historic victories in the country's Civil Rights Movement.
