Join us for the 22nd Annual National Heartland Artist Exhibition at the Tim Murphy Art Gallery, Merriam's largest art show of the year. This national show draws artists from all corners of the united States - from New York to California! The opening reception and awards ceremony will be on Saturday, March 3 from 5–7 p.m. Delicious hors d'oeuvres and beverages will be served with live music.
Exhibition selections will be made from digital images that must arrive with the entry form and fee at the Tim Murphy Art Gallery on or before January 17, 2018. Only juror selected works will be exhibited. The juror for this event is Mr. Joseph Lorusso. About Joseph Laousso
Internationally know artist Joseph Lorusso creates landscapes and figurative works. His paintings are described as warm and dreamlike places of restful escape with a sense of spirituality. Workshop
Joseph is offering a two-day class where students will be taught how to begin to construct a completed painting in the studio setting. The "Constructing a Painting in the Studio Setting" workshop is February 22 & 23, 9am-4pm.

CALL FOR ARTISTS
The 22nd Annual Heartland Artist Exhibition is accepting entries thru Wednesday, January 17, 2018. A maximum of three digital images in jpeg format may be submitted to be juried. The entry fee of $45 is non-refundable and payable to the City of Merriam.
HOW TO ENTER Entries can be mailed to the Irene B. French Community Center, 5701 Merriam Drive, Merriam, KS 66203, delivered in person, or you can fill out an online application. If you fill out the online application, images will be submitted via dropbox and can be no larger than 2MB. After we receive your application will will contact you for the entry fee. A maximum of three (3) digital images in jpeg format may be submitted to be juried. Images can be submitted on a disk, flashdrive or via dropbox, and files should be named with the titles. Please include a self-addressed envelope if entry submission is to be returned.
MEDIUMS Oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, charcoal, pencil, photography or a mixture of any of the above media.
ELIGIBILITY Artists, age 18 and over, are eligible to enter the exhibition. Original works in oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, charcoal, pencil, photography or a mixture of any of the above media are acceptable. The decision of the juror on all entries is final. All entries must be FOR SALE and remain for the duration of the exhibition at the Tim Murphy Art Gallery, March 3-31, 2018. Works previously exhibited at the Tim Murphy Art Gallery are not eligible for entry.
