Community Video Partnership

Video cameras are one of the best methods for detecting and apprehending criminals. With our Community Video Partnership Program, we are partnering with you to create a secure, private map of locations with cameras so our police officers can quickly contact you if your camera may have captured footage related to a crime.

You can register your security camera that views any public area in the city (sidewalks, streets, parking lots, etc.) If a crime is committed in your area, we may contact you to review footage related to that incident. We would then use that information to apprehend and prosecute the criminals involved.

Register your cameras

There is no fee to register your camera, and we will keep your information confidential. You can register your security cameras two ways:

  • Online
  • By mail – Print our PDF form and mail it to:
    Merriam Police Department
    9010 W 62nd Street
    Merriam, KS 66202

One of our officers will follow up with you. We will provide you with small Community Video Partnership stick-on signs, if you would like to place them on your home or business windows to deter criminal activity.

You may unsubscribe from the program at any time.

Privacy concerns

This program is not intended for active surveillance or for us to check on what you are doing in your neighborhoods. All information is housed in a secure database, and we will not have direct access to your private video system with this program.

We may request to see or make copies of footage related to criminal activity and to use for evidence during criminal proceedings.
