City of Merriam Parks & Recreation Department Scholarship
The City of Merriam Park and Recreation Department Scholarship is for Merriam Resident Families. The goal of this scholarship is to help Merriam resident families participate in recreational activities. Qualifying individuals may receive up to $100 per household per calendar year to be used towards Parks and Recreation programs. Scholarships are reviewed by the Parks & Recreation Director and notification of approval or denial is received in writing. Scholarship funds are provided through the private organizations.
The mission of the Dolphin Fund is to honor the lifelong friendship and mentorship of Merriam Pool Manager and Dolphin Swim Team Coach Susan Cline by way of a charitable fund with the Merriam Parks Recreation and Community Center Foundation, supporting low-income Merriam families. Qualifying youths may receive up to $60 per calendar year to be used towards swim team and swim lesson fees. Scholarships are reviewed by the Parks & Recreation Director and notification of approval or denial is received in writing. Scholarship funds are provided by past pool employee and swim team members.
